Details of the August 2015 Creative Writing Competition.

The topic for August has been set by the winner of the June 2015 competition ‘Lostinwords’ who has chosen the topic “NIGHTINGALE”.

Lostinwords describes his choice as follows …
“Nightingales don’t come to Cornwall anymore – if they ever did. I’ve only heard recordings of them but what a thrill it would be to hear their song on a warm early summer’s twilight. Sadly they are becoming more and more scarce mainly due to the loss of their habitat.
The topic for August is, therefore: NIGHTINGALE. It can be either a definite article nightingale or an indefinite article one; it could be a name or nickname; it could be the backdrop to a requited or unrequited love and be breathtakingly beautiful, indulgent and heart-stopping like the bird’s song.
Let your soul fly……or not ”
