The entries:

The deadline for the February 2015 Creative Writing Competition passed at Midnight on February 28th. 2015.

The topic for the stories was set by ‘Seadams’ and was described thus …

“ For February, I suggest we write a love story. Completely open-ended. Any love you like”.
A total of 15 entries have been accepted and links to the stories are listed below. They include stories from three writers new to the group and I am pleased to welcome them on behalf of all our other members. Special thanks to them, and to all the other writers who have entered, and thanks in advance to all those readers out there who will now support the competition by reading the stories and registering their vote. This is an open competition, and any interested party who wishes to participate is welcome to join in the voting and/or commenting on the stories at the appropriate time or place.

*********************************************

As in previous months, it would help if voters would make sure to quote the name of the story when posting their vote rather than the name of the writer, and I thank you in anticipation of your co-operation.

Voting can now commence and will continue until 11 p.m. on Monday the 9th of March 2015.

There are no restrictions as to who is allowed to vote, all that is asked that the voter reads all the stories and votes according to their preference. A brief reason for your choice is welcome but not mandatory.
Voters are requested to vote 5 points for first place, 3 points for second, and 1 point for third place.

Please do not submit any other point combinations such as 3/3/3, 4/4/1, 5/2/2, etc.

Writers are requested not to vote for their own entries, but for reasons of fairness and so as not to gain an unfair advantage over other competitors who vote, they will be expected to make a genuine effort to read all the stories and vote for three stories other than their own.

There will be no detailed summaries posted as to how the voting is progressing throughout the voting period but as soon as possible after voting closes a tabulated list of results will be posted separately and the winner declared.

*************************************************************

PLEASE DO NOT COMMENT AT LENGTH ABOUT THE STORIES OR RECORD ANY THOUGHTS THAT YOU MAY HAVE ON THEM, UNTIL AFTER VOTING CLOSES.

IF YOU WISH TO DESCRIBE IN DETAIL THE REASONS FOR YOUR CHOICES, OR COMMENT AT LENGTH ABOUT SOME OR ALL OF THE INDIVIDUAL STORIES, A SEPARATE PAGE WILL BE SET UP AT THE END OF THE VOTING PERIOD AND AFTER THE RESULT HAS BEEN POSTED.

Pleasant reading folks, and please remember to vote.

THE VOTING RESULT:

Hi everyone.
On account of the fact that I have an early start for a long day tomorrow, and have yet to watch the second half of Man.U V Arsenal before I retire tonight, I have closed the voting promptly at eleven o’clock.
Thanks to a late surge in the voting for our winner, it gives me great pleasure to announce that JACK FINDS LOVE AT THE CAFÉ MARCHÉ. Written by Expatangie has topped the polls.
In second place is something wot Atiller rote, and in third place is an entry from a newcomer, RICHARD III’s PARKING PLACE. Written by Turkishjenny.
Well done Expatangie and Turkishjenny, and thanks to everyone who took part either by entering a story or by voting.
I will post a full list of all the votes cast by Wednesday lunchtime (apologies for the slight delay).
