Details of the MAY 2015 Creative Writing Competition.

The topic for MAY has been set by the winner of the March 2015 competition ‘Giselle’ who has chosen the mouth watering topic “FOOD”.

As this is just about as universal subject that it is possible to choose, Giselle was not specific other than the story should be written around a food theme. How to cook it, eat it, or even throw it against the wall if you don’t like it (that last suggestion is mine 🙂 ).

For those that missed them, links to all the March entries, including Giselle’s winning story ‘GOLD AND BLUE’, can be found here …

The length of the story in MAY should be between 500 and 3000 words.

Closing date for entries –Midnight SUNDAY 31st. of MAY 2015.

The period for receiving votes will be announced at the close of the competition.Votes will not be accepted until the competition closes.

Publish stories on your personal blogs and post a link to your story below in the form of a comment.

If you are unable to do this, post your entry as a separate “Update” or “Discussion” in the Creative Writing forum at …

The “prize” for winning this MAY competition is to set the topic for JULY 2015.

The competition is open to anyone with an interest in short story writing, particularly (but not exclusively) to members of the MyT site and/or the Creative Writing Group and Short Story Club sites.

Just after the closing date, details of how to vote and a vote collection point will be set up as a “Discussion” on the Creative Writing Group page.

Writing is a wonderful pastime! Why not submit a story and find out just how much fun it is to compete.

And let’s be honest, what better subject to write about than food …

Food, glorious food!
Hot sausage and mustard!
While we’re in the mood —
Cold jelly and custard!
Pease pudding and saveloys!
What next is the question?
Rich gentlemen have it, boys –

Food, glorious food!
We’re anxious to try it.
Three banquets a day —
Our favourite diet!
Just picture a great big steak –
Fried, roasted or stewed.
Oh, food,
Wonderful food,
Marvellous food,
Glorious food.

Food, glorious food!
What wouldn’t we give for
That extra bit more –
That’s all that we live for
Why should we be fated to
Do nothing but brood
On food,
Magical food,
Wonderful food,
Marvellous food,
Fabulous food,
