The topic for March 2019 has been chosen by the winner of the January competition, CAPUCIN, and will be ‘TREASURES’.
Your stories should revolve around anything that can be reasonably described as a treasure whether it has an intrinsic value of itself, or something that has become a treasure because it is valued by the world as a whole, such as say The Pyramids, The Taj Mahal, or The Grand Canyon.
Or it might be a National treasure valued by many, or even something that is valued by a single person because of its sentimental value to them as an individual and special to them alone.
And I am sure that we all know what the word ‘treasure’ meant to Long John Silver! So come on me hearties, get scribbling!
The length of entries in March will be the regular “between 500 and 3000 words”, and competitors are reminded that multiple entries can be accepted, particularly of the shorter variety.
The closing date for entries will be at Midnight on Sunday the 31st. of March 2019.
The period for receiving votes will be announced on or around the 30th., and votes will not be accepted until after the competition officially closes.
The “prize” for winning this March competition will be to set the topic for May 2019.
Voting. After the competition closes there will be a vote to decide the first three places and just after the closing date, details of how to vote, and a vote collection point will be set up here in this competition section.
How to enter. Post your story on your personal WordPress blogs and post a link to your story in the form of a comment below (“Leave a reply” panel.)

It’s not a great story. I wrote the first draft two or more weeks ago but the last ten days I’ve had a stinking cold/bug/maybe flu that’s on the loose in Gloucestershire and felt too rough to devote time to correcting/improving it – spent best part of four days in bed. So apologies.

Not sure that there is anything in the rules which says you can’t edit your story even after you have published it. Keep to this side of the deadline that’s all.

Thanks but under the weather – still – so no energy to fiddle/correct. At this precise moment I want to be transported to the south of France (luxurious all-in hotel, maybe a health centre but with wine) or the undertaker….. Bug is in on the loose round here.

Hi everybody, I feel honoured that you allowed me to choose the subject for April.
