A FREE TO ENTER JANUARY 2019 WRITING COMPETITION OPEN TO ALL TCWG GROUP MEMBERS.

The topic for January 2019 has been set by the winner of the Oct/Nov 2018  competition and will be INTOXICATION.
This could include becoming intoxicated by alcohol, drugs, serum. or poison, and any feeling of wild excitement, rapture (infatuation with another), or frenzy, and actions resulting from any of the foregoing.

The length of entries in January will be “between 1000 and 2500 words” and competitors are reminded that multiple entries can be accepted, particularly of the shorter variety.
The closing date for entries will be at Midnight on Thursday the 31st of January 2019.
The period for receiving votes will be announced on or around the 30th. of January, and votes will not be accepted until after the competition officially closes.
The “prize” for winning this January competition will be to set the topic for March 2019.
Voting. After the competition closes there will be a vote to decide the first three places and just after the closing date, details of how to vote, and a vote collection point will be set up here in this competition section.
How to enter. Post your story on your personal WordPress blogs and post a link to your story in the form of a comment below (“Leave a reply” panel.)

  1. I’m afraid I won’t make it this month but I have a clear idea of story for next month – reworking an old unpublished ghost story.

  2. My entry for this month, and I was sober when I wrote it but reading it, I think I should have had a drink or two. I had a real problem with the increase in the lower word limit. I really want to edit it but then it just drops down to my usual 600 or so words.

    Anyway here it is before I’m tempted to cut any more out:
